Vermont Summer Festival Announces Another
Summer of Exciting Equestrian
Competition
East Dorset,
VT—January 27, 2003— The Vermont Summer Festival, which
brings five weeks of exciting equestrian competition to Vermont,
will return this year July 9-August 10.
Once again, the
five weekly horse shows that make up the Festival will be
held at Harold Beebe Farm in East Dorset, VT. The show grounds provide top-notch facilities for riders,
horses, and spectators alike. The grounds boast an all-weather Grand Prix and Jumper
field, new last year, four all-weather hunter rings, as well
as several all-weather riding/school rings.
The
Vermont Summer Festival, New England’s largest “AA” rated
hunter-jumper horse show, kicks off with the Manchester Summer
Festival, July 9-13. The competition continues with the Manchester
Classic Horse Show, July 16-20, the Valley Classic, July 23-27,
Manchester and the Mountains Horse Show, July 30-August 3,
and then concludes with the Vermont Summer Celebration, August
6-10.
Each
week will feature a USET-recognized Grand Prix as well as
a Mini Prix. Each horse show will also feature a $10,000
Show Jumping Hall of Fame Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic,
part of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series,
which determines which junior and amateur-owner riders will
qualify to ride in the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Finals at
the 2003 National Horse Show. There will also be Marshall & Sterling and North
American League Children and Adult Hunter and Jumper Classics.
“We were quite gratified
with the positive feedback we received for the grounds and
schedule improvements we made last year,” said John D. Ammerman,
the longtime horse show manager who heads the Vermont Summer
Festival. “We had a record number of entries last year and
having them go home so happy with their Vermont experience
tells me we’re in for another record summer in 2003!”
