Five Weeks of Equestrian Competition Set
To Begin
East Dorset,
VT—July 8, 2003—The Manchester Summer Festival, July 9-13,
the first week of competition at the Vermont Summer Festival
is set to begin. The Vermont Summer Festival, July 9-August
10, is a five week long Horse Show held at Harold Beebe Farm
in East Dorset, VT.
Competition will
begin July 9 at 7:30 am with the Green Conformation Model
and the Regular Conformation Model. At 8:00 am, all five rings
will open and will feature top level hunter and jumper action
throughout the day.
The Regular Working
Hunter Division along with the Regular Conformation Hunter
Division will highlight the days activity in the hunter
rings. In the jumper rings the Preliminary Jumper Division
will get the jumper competition underway and the afternoons
$2,500 Open Jumper Class will kick off a week of top level
show jumping competition in the Grand Prix ring.
The first week of
competition at the Vermont Summer Festival will be followed
by the Manchester Classic, July 16-20; the Valley Classic,
July 23-27; the Manchester and the Mountains Show, July 30-August
3; and the Vermont Summer Celebration, August 6-10.
The Vermont Summer
Festival is New Englands largest AA rated
hunter/jumper horse show circuit. This years event includes
five USET-recognized $35,000 Grand Prix and five $10,000 Mini
Prix to be held on the last day of each show. Each of the
five weeks will also feature a $10,000 Show Jumping Hall Of
Fame High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper class, part of the Show
Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series which determines
which junior and amateur/owner riders will qualify to ride
at the 2003 National Horse Show.
