Artist Terry Lindsey Contributes Artwork to the Vermont Summer Festival
East
Dorset, VT—July 31, 2004 - Artist Terry Lindsey
of Dorset, VT loves horses and wants to share her enthusiasm
with the rest of the world. Lindsey feels so strongly that
she has donated oil painting commissions to be awarded to
the winners of the weekly $35,000 Grand Prix at the Vermont
Summer Festival. The five victorious riders may them have
their champion horse's portrait captured by Lindsey.
"Terry's
work showcases her passion for all things equine," shared
Vermont Summer Festival Marketing Executive Ruth Lacey. "We
are very happy to have an artist of her caliber and national
renown donate their precious art to our champions."
Lindsey grew up in the quaint countryside of Litchfield, CT,
an area of stone walls, forests and gardens. Her dedication
to art, nature, and horses was fostered by her surroundings.
"I am fortunate to be involved in the horse world and
share that love with so many people," stated Lindsey.
"Horses are creatures that unite our hearts."
Along with painting equines, Lindsey is known for her beautiful
landscapes, still-lifes, and portraits of children. Lindsey's
work can be seen at the Tilting at Windmills Gallery in Manchester,
VT and Legends Gallery in Saratoga, NY, as well as at Equine
Affaire in Springfield, MA this fall. Additionally, her art
is on display online at www.equidae.com. Lindsey is also available
on a limited basis for commissions in oils and other artistic
mediums.
Her distinctive style is portrayed in many ways. With almost
an eclectic combination of interests from horses and children
to landscapes and still lifes she is able to communicate her
feelings through color and form in an emotionally expressive
way. Her work is realistic yet always leaving room for the
viewers' imagination to be utilized. She follows a layering
technique similar to the masters, finding the Dutch painters
such as Vermeer a great inspiration.
The Vermont Summer Festival is New England's largest "AA"
rated hunter/jumper horse show circuit and runs from July
14 to August 15. This year's series includes five weekly $35,000
Grand Prix and five $10,000 Mini Prix. Each of the five weeks
will also feature a $10,000 Show Jumping Hall Of Fame High
Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper class, part of the Show Jumping
Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series.
The Vermont Summer Festival is located right on Route 7 in
East Dorset, VT, just North of Manchester. Admission to the
Vermont Summer Festival is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors,
