Amanda Flint of Long Valley, NJ, topped the $10,000 Sir Ruly, Inc., Open Jumper Awards at the 2015 Vermont Summer Festival. Julie Welles was second, and Jimmy Torano was third in the 9th annual award.

After six weeks of competition in a total of 55 divisions, Circuit Championships were rewarded for their outstanding performances at the conclusion of the 2015 Vermont Summer Festival. Hunter, jumper and equitation riders claimed their tri-color awards after a competitive circuit.

Following six weeks of equestrian competition, the Vermont Summer Festival concluded a record-setting 2015 season on Sunday, August 9, at Harold Beebe Farm in East Dorset, VT. Top riders from across the country contested a full schedule of hunter, jumper and equitation competition.

Week 6 - Vermont Summer Celebration
Mckayla Langmeier of East Granby, CT, closed out the 2015 Vermont Summer Festival with a win in the $10,000 Show Jumping Hall of Fame High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, presented by Dr. Robert Barber and Team Barber, aboard Promised Land.

Alexa Lowe-Wiseman of Upperville, VA, had the only double clear performance of the day to win the $50,000 Vermont Summer Celebration Grand Prix aboard Ami Du Houssiot. Twenty entries jumped Ken Krome’s track in the finale grand prix.

Jimmy Torano of Wellington, FL, won the $15,000 NEHJA Performance Stake Hunter Derby, sponsored by Land Rover Experience, aboard Lion Hearted and finished second with Argentus.

Kelly Soleau of Marlborough, CT, and her own Itty Bitty kicked off the final week of competition at the Vermont Summer Festival with a win the $10,000 Overland Welcome Stake, presented by Manchester Designer Outlets. Thursday’s class welcomed 32 entries.

The ever-poplar Equitation Tuesdays returned to the Vermont Summer Festival in 2015 and are playing a major role in sending talented young riders to 2015 Equitation Finals this fall. Equitation Tuesdays feature a day of qualifying classes, in addition to what’s offered throughout the week.

Week 5 - Manchester & the Mountains
Joy Slater of Unionville, PA, and her own Oilean Uno topped a field of 50 to win the $5,000 NAL Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, presented by Summit Performance. Slater put years of experience in the tack to good use and bested an 18-horse jump-off.

Julie Welles of Wellington, FL, was first, second and third in the $30,000 Manchester & the Mountains Grand Prix, winning aboard Virginia W Z. Welles turned in flawless double clear rounds on her three mounts.

Jimmy Torano of Wellington, FL, claimed the blue ribbon in the $5,000 NEHJA Performance Stake Hunter Derby, presented by Eastern Hay, aboard Lion Hearted on Thursday. Torano piloted Lion Hearted to score a 78 in the first round, and impressed in the second round with a 90.

Manuel Torres of Leesburg, VA, and Anabella had the speed to win the $10,000 NYDJ Welcome Stake, presented by Manchester Designer Outlets. Thursday’s immediate jump-off class welcomed 25 entries.

Making a home at the Vermont Summer Festival for two weeks, Fred and Christina Schauder of Country Lane Farm in Greenwich, CT, together with their daughters Emma, Lindsay and Avery have made horse sport their lives.

Week 4 - Valley Classic Horse Show
Madeleine Gastineau of Doylestown, PA, and Limited Edition jumped to a win in the $5,000 NAL Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, presented by Summit Performance. She was one of three double-clear trips for the win over tracks built by Steve Stephens.

Ian Silitch and Cordovo captured the $30,000 Mount Equinox Grand Prix, presented by Purina Horse Feed, on Saturday, July 25. Silitch, who advanced to the jump-off on two mounts, posted the only double-clear trip of the day aboard Cordovo and jumped Vanita to the fastest four-fault ride.

In a dominating performance, Ashley Williams of Colts Neck, NJ, and Little Lion Man were Champion in the TAKE2 Thoroughbred Jumper Division, as well as Reserve Champion in the TAKE2 Thoroughbred Hunter Division during week 1 at the Vermont Summer Festival.
